Balance colume

Each month the colume labeled Balance grows if the money is not spent the month before. If you do not spend $10.00 and budget $20.00 the balance colume will equal $30.00. Is there a way to prevent this from happening. We are not over spending, but we would only like to have the money from the present month for spending this month.
